Subpixel-focused visual check
This stuck pixel test compares the same screen location across individual RGB channels, two-channel color combinations, black, and white. It helps you describe a persistent colored point without claiming an automatic diagnosis or repair.
Follow the color response
On red, green, and blue fields, keep your eyes on the same coordinate. Note whether the point becomes dark, blends in, or keeps a color unrelated to the field.
Cyan, magenta, and yellow each drive two RGB channels. These combinations can clarify a pattern that was ambiguous on one primary color.
A subpixel that remains active may stand out on black. A point that remains fully dark across white and all primaries is more consistent with a different failure pattern.
Do not merge the terms
In ordinary RGB display language, one visible pixel contains red, green, and blue color components. If one component does not switch as requested, the combined pixel may appear red, green, blue, cyan, magenta, or yellow depending on the field. That observation can be described as a possible stuck subpixel.
A point that stays dark across bright white and all three primary fields behaves differently and may be described as a possible dead pixel after surface contamination is ruled out. The stuck pixel test cannot tell you the transistor-level cause, and panel designs do not all expose subpixels in the same geometric arrangement.
Interpret the pattern carefully
